Well beyond 14 days following the shocking loss of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt ready to express about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started sharing more moments together I knew this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the film, adding that he doesn't recollect "any day without laughter".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Things that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He ended with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate essay, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles judge ruled to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order put a security hold on the cases to restrict the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the probe.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a record citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Following the tragedy, public individuals shared varying responses.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, providing provocative statements that were met with immediate backlash by several individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his perspective to the critics recently. Speaking on his show, Rogan characterized the statements as "shocking" and implied they demonstrated a troubling deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan finished by proposing that an aide ought to have acted when the decision to comment on the tragedy was made.
