The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.

The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
