Manchester United Set to Secure Germany Forward Lea Schüller from the Bavarian Giants
Manchester United are finalising completing the signing for prolific German striker Lea Schüller in a permanent move from Bayern Munich.
A Major Signing for United
Schüller, who has half a year remaining on her deal, has been a prolific goal-getter for both club and country. She has scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 caps for her country. Her arrival is viewed as a marquee coup for the Women’s Super League team.
Departure from Bayern has been anticipated after she was seen fighting back tears while applauding the club's supporters following a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
It was reported in December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its leading forwards. According to multiple sources, all the paperwork for the move have now been completed.
Consistent Goalscoring to Boost the Attack
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a major uplift to the team's forward line. She has been remarkably consistent with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.
Gathering Momentum at Carrington
Securing the German international coincides with a period when United seem to be building positive momentum.
Their recent on-pitch successes include qualifying for the Champions League knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a win in the Conti Cup quarter-finals.

- The acquisition of Swedish defender Hanna Lundkvist on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
- The new deal for Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a popular figure since joining in 2023.
Regarding the midfielder's extension, a senior figure stated: “Miyazawa is now a vital component to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and skill allows her and the team to dominate play from the middle of the park.”
