Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in response for a significant and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
