Barça to Host First Match at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
